Week 29

Okay! This week was a roller coster! Holy cow! :)
First Wednesday I got a call from the zone leaders. They happily said that my area was going to close. So My comp. and I BOTH had a combio this week! I am going to Trujillo. In the center and most beautiful part of Trujillo. My new companion is a Hermana Leader, and she has a lot of responsibility with the Temple, so I will be in the temple a lot with her.! Today I have a meeting with people about the open house. All the sisters in the mission are going to Trujillo for 3 days, full of meeting and trainings for the open house. It is going to be way fun! Ah, this week and month is going to be crazy!!!
Friday we started telling everyone that we were both leaving Bellamar. The zone leaders will be taking are place there and are really happy about it! I am leaving a little kid that is going to be baptized 16 May. Ah! I am so mad! My first baptism and I have to give him up!
No one believed us when we told them that we were leaving. But Sunday, the Bishop announced that we were leaving, and gave us the opportunity to bear our testimonies one last time in the ward. It was so sad!
After church we had ward counsel and that was even sadder... not a word but I don't care. The members are going to miss us so much. They haven't had elders there for 3 years. It will take some time to get used to the elders... :)
After church we visited a few members and then went to eat dinner and spend our last hours with our penchinista. To our "surprise" all the members were in her house to say goodbye. Here, they go around the room and everyone gets to say something to the missionaries. All the members wished us well, and all want us to return after our missions. Ah! I love this ward. All I kept thinking was that I have 1 year in my mission, and then after that, I have to work and get money to come back. The earliest that I can return is in 2 years. In two years I will see these people again. Ah! Thats such a long time!!!! :( Really, these people are my family. I can feel the love and hope that they have for us. And the members LOVE us! It was so hard to say goodbye! I will miss them.
Well, I got my wish, to go to Trujillo!!! :) I am really excited. But I hear that my area is building and intercoms to talk to people. The work will be very different there. VERY Different. :) But I am ready. I can see the strength and confidence that I have to speak Spanish and teach the gospel. I know I can do it!
The weather is good. It's starting to not be so hot, but no matter what I will always be sweating buckets. I was able to find the perfect clothes here for the temple open house, and I didn't spend a lot of money either. In Trujillo I will be able to find a lot more clothes and stuff, so that will be nice! :)
Mother, thank you for the photos from the baby blessing of Jett! The family looks amazing and grows every time I see photos. I love you all and I am so happy that we are family! Thank you for the letters and the love! :) I pray that all will be well this week and all the things you people have to do, you can do them! :)
LOVE YOU ALL! And the church is true!

7 Months

Hello family and friends!!! :)

How is everyone? I want photos... :)
First: Next week I have a meeting with all the sisters in the mission. We are getting trained from general presidents for the temple open house. So I have no clue if I will be able to write you, and if I do it will be in the afternoon, like before dinner... :) but know that I love you and that I hope and pray that all is well! :)
Well, the only downside to being a missionary is that your body is tired all the time. Im sleeping like a rock every night, but I wake up tired. People say its part of the mission life. So don't worry to much.
Mission work is getting better. These people think I am from Spain. :) hhaha... Which is always really funny! I don't have that many funny stories this week.
I do want to say to read the temple book before you go to the temple... I thought that I read the book, but I've been reading it.... And I didn't read the book... :) It's amazing and would have helped me a lot before I went through!!! :) But I have been reading it to know what things I can share with people during the open house! I am so excited!!! In 1.5 weeks I will be able to enter the temple and see EVERYTHING!!!!
Pray for me.  LOVE YOU ALL!!! My time is up.... Haha. Sorry!!! Have a great week!
Love Hermana Hansen
Ps. I will have photos for you next week!!! :) ha.
PSS. Next week is combios... :( Pray that president will keep me or put me where I need to go!

Week 27

I wanted to be cool and know how many weeks I have out in the field, but I don't know, nor can I remember. Haha  I guess I'm not as cool as I thought....
How is everyone back at home?! I haven't heard much from people lately!!!

This week was interviews with President Marler and Hemana Marler. They are amazing. The challenge this time was: They gave us a Book of mormon in our native language, and told us to read it. But the only thing that we are highlighting is the words; Dios, Lord, Jesus Christ, I, ect. By doing this I will gain a testimony that the Book of Mormon talks and testifies of Christ, and Heavenly Father. I learned that truly our main purpose is to testify and talk of Christ, our Savior. To help these people understand the importance of Him, and how his example and life was(and is) for us! We are hear for a reason. We have this life to grow and follow the commandments of God. :)
I am doing good. I'm completely healthy, and the weather is the same, but we have a nice cool breeze. I am really starting to LOVE this people and this area.... Transfers are in two weeks... And  have the feeling that I will be leaving. I don't want to leave.... :( This is the down side to missionary life, we have amazing friendships and we meet all these people, and then we have to leave... because your time is up in that area, and you are needed somewhere else...

Room update: I still don't have a bathroom door, and we killed all the bugs. We are still living with spiders, because they are everywhere.... but they don't really do anything so usually Peruvians just leave them be...

TODAY: The reason that I am writing earlier this week is because we have a special activity today. Because we are helping with the Open House of the Peru Trujillo Temple, we have to dress very professional.... SO today all of the Hermana's in Chimbote(my City that I am in) are going shopping. Mainly because a lot of us don't have nice clothes, and only a few nice clothes. So we get to go shopping and find clothes to wear that are nice and professional. It should be fun! We don't know how many days of the month we will be able to help in the open house, but we were guaranteed 3 days. But most likely we will help for more. I am so excited!!! I cant wait. We get to be the tour guides and help in the beginning tent part. It is going to be amazing!!!

This week I had my first ALMA RISCATADA( saved soul)... But this is a person that was inactive, and we taught them all the lessons and they came back to church. They have the same requirements as a investigator, but they are members already, so we just save their soul.... But It was my first, and im really proud. This women is so strong in the church now, and LOVES TO SERVE!!!! She reminds me a lot of my mother. So of course I love spending time in her house with her family.

This week a lot happened, but I can't put it all into words in a email. I will just have to wait and tell you when I get home.
Life is amazing, and I am doings all right. Im growing and learning A LOT!!! :)
Love you all, and I hope life is treating you well! :)Miss you like crazy!
Love,
Hermana Hansen
Ps. My companion says hi.

Week 26

Well.... A lot of crazy things happened and this week is going to be even crazier.
Tuesday we got told that all the hermana's in the mission are going to have the opportunity to help with the open house of the Trujillo Temple in May. I AM SO EXCITED!!!! This week we have a training to help us know exactly what we are going and for how many days we will be able to help. It's so Awesome!
Monday and Tuesday I got some medicine from the mission, and I am doing a lot better. I don't have a cough and everything is a lot better, s don't worry mom!! :)
This week I have my training to be a Nurse for the mission, so I can start helping people... :) It's going to be amazing! Also at the end of this week on Saturday, I have my interview with President Marler. We have interviews every 3 months.
We MOVED!!! And our landlady is AMAZING!!! She lives on the 2nd floor and we live on the 1st. Our room is really big, and is nice too. I did have to kill 4 cockroaches and spiders the first few days, but now I don't think we will find any more. The only down fall to our room is that we don't have a bathroom door.... For now. We have a rule that if someone is in the bathroom the other has to be on their bed... because it's the farthest point from the "door". Hahah. the first day, I always had to tell my companion to stay put and then run into the bathroom. Haha. She would just laugh and laugh.
The weather here is really hot still. But some night I need a cardigan or something because the wind is strong and cold. But I still sweat and enjoy getting sunburned.
My last P day we went shopping but everything was way to expensive. Its cheeper in Trujillo. So I am going to wait until the mission splits and see what mission I am in. If I will ever have the chance to go to Trujillo or no.
My companion is awesome, and we are doing great. She told me that last night I taught lesson 1 all my myself and with perfect Spanish during my dreams. She was very surprised and now knows that I have the capacity to speak Spanish perfectly. Haha. At first she thought that I was talking on the phone to someone, but then she turned on the light I was sound asleep... :) I never knew how much I slept talked until I had someone in my room that I can wake up and listen to me! Haha.
Today for my P day I am going to clean our room and finally put all my clothes away, so I can stop living out of my suitcase... And then we are going to make french toast in our kitchen with our landlord. She has a lot of questions and her little girl LOVES me. Her Son just stops crying and stares at me... :) But we are slowly going to teach her about the gospel and hopefully she will be my converso!!! :) AH! She is amazing!!! :)
Life is good. I am reading a lot in the Bible about the life of Jesus Christ and I am learning a lot and LOVING IT! It's amazing the things you can learn when you put your mind to it! :)
Im enjoying life, missing all of you guys. I cant wait for Mother's day, so I can Skype all of you. Thank you for your letters and prayers! LOVE YOU ALL!!!! And I really do miss you. But I know that I am where I am suppose to be, so I'm not coming home for another year! Enjoy the smells of spring and have a picnic with your families sometime soon.

Week 25: Moving (again), Fainting, Rules

Haha... Life this week was terrible.... In all aspects... :) haha. But what made it better was general conference this weekend. What AMAZING talks... Yeah? I love that I know that Thomas S. Monson is a Prophet of Heavenly Father, and that we have the opportunity to listen and receive revelation every 6 months.
My week:
Monday: I spent all day packing. My entire P day packing... It was awesome.

Tuesday We had our district meeting, and we found out about our lost phone, and everything.... It wasn't the best interview that i have had with the elders.... :(

WED: We moved, and my Compton fainted because she is kind of really sick. So that was really }y fun......our new room was terribly small. Our beds were right next to each other.... And there was a bird in our room, because the lady left to window open for 4 days.... So the little feller decided to live there.
While we were moving, the elders saw that two men were living right next to us.. Which is against the rules... So we knew that we would have to move again sometime in the future. When we went in for the night, 15 min. later, I hear someone calling my name from the window. The Elders. We didn't sleep there that night. I spent the night with Hernama Jolley and her Compton, and slept on an air mattress.

Thursday. We went to talk to the lady to see if men were going to be living near us, and she said yes. So We took our suitcases and left to live with the Hermana Leaders. We live on the 4th floor. And there is hardly any space. We also found out this day that our pencenista{s husband is going to live in chile to work in may.... and that was really hard to hear. He will be gone for one year....

Friday: We spent all day looking for a new room to live in. And we found one, Its just not very close to the center of our area.... :) But it is nice and Amazing and the lady we will be living with is Amazing as well. Also Hermana Marler found out that I was sick and sent me vitamins to take to help my health. Now the Hermana Leaders are like hawks with my health.... :/
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!!!! were amazing... We didn't have time to really preach during the day because of GC. But it was amazing to hear the prophet and recieve revelation. And I got to watch all of it in English... so that was nice as well... :)
HOY(today: We are going to the center of chimbote and shopping around. So it will really be a good lazy day.I will put on a lot of sunscreen and sweat a lot, and buy a lot of things to take home with me. :)

Tomorrow we are moving into our new apartment. And after that is taken care of, I will be able to relax. Haha... Oh the life is great. I really have no clue what each day holds. But the ward is amazing and I am really enjoying my new companion. I see Hermana Jolley every week at our reunions, and it's a little weird, but its great to see her. My comp is amazing and I am learning a lot. In 2 weeks my Spanish has improved A LOT!!!!

Love you all.
Happy BIRTHDAY to Walter this past week, And McKay and Zoey This week!!!!! :) Ah our family is getting so big!!
LOVE YOU ALL. The church is true!
Hermana Hansen
NOTICE: in one year from today, i will be on a plane on my way to see my family. And tomorrow I complete 6 months as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. What a blessing!?!?
LOVE YOU!!!! Say your prays and read your scriptures!!! :)
Until next week Family and friends

6 Months: Lost Phone, Moving & Rolled Ankle

Oh yeah! I am so ready to listen to the Prophet speak this weekend!! And I will hopefully be able to watch it in english... :) Which is even better!!!

Oh my New companion. She is AWESOME!! She sometimes uses word that I don't understand, but for the most part, I understand her really well.
One of the first things she asked was if I was the comp with more time in the mission... :) Only because I am tall...  Side note: People always say that I am 25-27 years old because of how tall I am... Anyway. This week has been good. We started working for day one, and our lessons were amazing this week...

Bad news: Friday we lost our cell phone in a motor taxi, and we wont get a new one for 3-4 weeks... Its great! Saturday: My zone leaders called and told our landlord that we were moving on the 1st of April. The bad part about that is that I have to pack all my things up again, after only one month of living there. The other bad part; they didn't know that we were moving at all. And when we sat down to talk with them, the grandma that owns the place made me cry... but her daughter came and helped the situation. Ah! If I could tell you the whole story about who said what and all the jazz, you would cry too.... But in a year ask me and I will tell you all about it. AH! It was terrible. Monday: This morning My LDS Mail wasn't working, and my leaders said that we could email our families this week.. But here I am, a little later in the day, emailing you! So this is a grand blessing.

This week is going to be awesome. I'm moving into a little bit smaller room, on wed. And then we have general conference this weekend. :) Eat easter candy for me... yeah! :)

I cant believe how fast these weeks are getting. Next Monday I will complete 6 months in the mission. Only one YEAR more! Its crazy to think about. At christmas time I will really only have 3 months left because I come home after general conference. AHHH!!! Christmas is really life 8 months away, but it's really close!!! :) Ah! I just cant wrap my head around it.
Fun Health facts: I have a throat infection and now taking pills for a week to clear it out of my system. And I rolled my ankle at church yesterday--BUT cool story. Yeah. So I rolled my ankle and yeah it hurt. It popped really well. And because we didn't have a cell phone I couldn't call the Zone Leaders to tell them that I was staying in for the day. So I couldn't call, so we went out to the lessons we had. Literally hours later, the swelling and the pain were a minimum... And this morning, its a little swollen, and its doesn't even hurt. MIRACLE because I went out and did the Lords work. Its was amazing!!! What a blessing and a cool experience that I had.

The Women's conference was this Saturday, for those of you that forgot you can see it on the internet.:) But I was really surprised on the focus. The FAMILY. It honestly makes me really nervous for the future!!! Ah! But this Sat. I was able to think about my family. And the blessing all my siblings and in laws are and the blessing that that I have received! I am truly blessed to have my family. I thank Heavenly Father for you guys everyday! And I also ask that he watch over you! :)
This next week is going to be awesome!!!! Take notes and follow the counsel of the Prophet and the apostles(Spelling).
My new companion is amazing and is a power house. Already I can see a difference in our ward here. :) Everyday, she says that theres a lot of work to do. One time she expressed that if we don't get it down, she could see the area being closed and Elders coming in.... We both don't want that to happen. Now, all we have to do is work hard and follow what the Lord wants us to do! :)
I love my life right now. The heat, the Spanish, the food isn't important because I am a Missionary. I am a representative of Jesus Christ. His name is on my plaque. When I do what He wants, I am blessed. I have written in my planner, ¿Mano de Dios? Which means hand of God? Because I want to be looking for the hand of God in my life Every day! He is there every day, I know He is. I just have to look for it!!! :)
The world is amazing, but I am grateful for the opportunity I have to be with my family for eternity. That One day I will be PERFECT! And that one day, I will live in the presence of God, if I do my part in this life, and the time that I have in this world. :)
The church is True. Thomas S. Monson is our latter-day Prophet. The Book Of Mormon is true, and that Jesus Christ lives! He loves me, and PERSONALLY knows me.
Love you all. Hope all is well. I pray for you all the time!

Week 23: Hermana Lopez, Mission Nurse, Pooped Pants (What else can happen now?)

Okay something happened last week, but it's to funny of a story that I will save it for the end of my email... :)

We found out transfers yesterday night. :) In my zone, only 2 companions started the same... So their were a lot. Hermana Jolley, is leaving, but is still in my zone... haha. Its funny. Ill still see her on Sundays and when we have district meetings every week. My new companion is Hermana Lopez, from Santiago Chile.... BRANDON!!!!! I will meet her tomorrow and we will start tearing up our area. :) Im way excited. She is really funny, and know no english, so my Spanish is only going to get better, because I have to talk ALL DAY IN SPANISH!!! It's a blessing.... I LOVE hermana Jolley, but we NEVER spoke Spanish.. .:) Ha. With transfers, Sunday nights we go into our rooms at 7, instead of 9 and wait for the call... The assistant to the president call personally those people that will be training. And guess what Elder Brown called me at 8 30 while is was in the shower... It was very awkward, but anyway he called. And I'm not training.... Which is okay because I still have a lot to learn. But I have been called as a mission nurse. She is AMAZING!!! I work a lot with Hermana Marler, and all the missionaries in my zone, and another zone call me when they have health problems. This week I will have a training with Hermana Marler and then I will be an official nurse!!! :) hahah.,... Im way excited.

Last week I wanted to start a count down chain for General Conference, but Haha. Jolley asked me not to avoid emotional problems, because after GC she only has a month in the mission. BUT that doesn't mean that I lost my enthusiasm...!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! :) I cant wait. And this week is the General Women's conference, and it's going to be awesome Everyone.... This is a time to hear the voice of the Lord through our living prophet!!! WATCH IT!!!! It will change your life... :) haha.

Okay story time... Its worst then my MTC story.... Okay ready?
Yeah, okay so I have been sick, and here they just give you fulgrip for everything health problem, so instead of calling the nurse I just took one pill. 2 hours later we left to email our families because it was P-day. Yeah. 40mins into internet, I pooped my pants. While writing my email to you guys.  I think I destroyed my underwear, they will never be white ever again... :) I tried so hard to hold it in as well... My companion did nothing when I told her... she just continued typing... it was awesome... The only good thing that came from this experience is that I can say that I have actually pooped my pants. And I mean pooped my pants.... So later that day we called the doctor and the meds she gave me haven't done anything. So sometime this week I have to go get a shot to help me breath and stop coughing. But don't worry, its almost a normal thing now... The members thing that I am dying.... Haha. Its funny!

I didn't take any photos this week.. Nothing else really happened.... But my new comp and I will have a blast taking photos and partying while walking the streets of Bella Mar.

Weather update.... I sweat in my sleep, I cant stop sweating, and I feel bad for the members when they hug me hello... BECAUSE I AM DISGUSTING!!! It's not really that hot, but it is humid.. Really humid. My room is like a sonna. I wish I could just stay in the shower all day long.

Life is good. Im looking forward to these next 6 weeks with Hermana Lopez. I am happy and as healthy as can be! The church is true, and we have a living prophet on the earth that leads and guides us. The BOOK OF MORMON is true, and contains amazing things we need to know and apply into our lives daily!!!!
I love you all! I hope everything is well and you are enjoying the warmer weather. :) Eat a s'more for me this week, and enjoy the week! :) LOVE YOU ALL!!!!
