WEEK 45: Week 9 Of Training

October 26, 2015

WEEK NINE!!!!! wahoo!!! Hermana Rowley has come so long. I am so proud of her, and I am so glad that I have had this time to train her, and see the progress that she has made!

Well,... story time! :) About 2 months ago I lost my watch... well someone stole my watch! Its different. :) But not important... Anyway I was going through this mission life without a watch, and all was well. All was well until we came home late..... It all started out that we went to visit a investigator  We started chatting, and I now love to chat with these people... and time started to pass by quickly. After some time hna. Rowley started playing with her watch, and I thought that she just wanted to leave and visit someone else... so I started to end the conversation  but then the Investigator said something that I had been wanting to ask and talk to her about. So the conversation continued... and continued... until someone asked us what time it was and my companion said, "9:28pm" We have to be in our rooms at 9 and we still had not eaten dinner. So we quickly said a pray, and RAN, we booked it to our room! It was on that night, that I promised to buy a watch! And I finally bought one last week! :) it was funny, but I got scared with how fast time flies during the day!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN SATURDAY!!!
Here, they don't celebrate halloween, so we will be sharing candy with ourselves, no one else... its sad, but at the same time it's a blessing because we can visit the people that night, and we don't have to be worried about something bad happening! :)
For the past week I have been working out, and I'm not sore!!! :) Every day, not every other Sunday but every other day I worked out! And today as well. For p day we will be eating with the bunch of the other sisters and then playing soccer! :) I hope that everything works out and that all goes smoothly today. Also, before we can play I have to clean my room. I haven't been very organized lately, and its because I have a lot of stuff... so today I will be going through everything and actually cleaning my room. So I am happy about that. Because in a clean home, you can always feel the Spirit! :)
This week I have also had time to myself in the nighttime to write in my journal and think about the day. I have reallly enjoyed it, because its in these moments that I can see the blessing, small and big, that the Lord is sending my way. :) I feel really blessed, and amazing to be here in Perú!

Wednesday we had an appointment with Chabeli, and I ended up crying.! :) It was amazing, because she really opened up to us and shared her true feeling about being baptized  the church, and her family. We were teaching about the church, the Book of Mormon  and other random stuff... there was a moment when my companion was talking, that I just looked at chabeli and felt an over whelming love for her. It came from the heavens, and it was an amazing feeling. Then I started thinking about how much the Holly Ghost would bless her, and being baptized and everything, when I felt in my heart and mind someone say, "She is ready. This is her time". And I lost it... everyone started looking at me, so I shared my feeling. We were truly sent to get to know her, to help her in this part of her life! It was then, that she started crying, and she told us that we have brought such a light in her life. We have made a mark in her life, and that she doesn't want transfers to come, because she thinks that I will be  leaving. :( I don't want to leave. I love it here! I am hoping for one transfer here, but I am praying that the Lord will send me where He needs me. But anyway  she started crying, and she really told us everything, and now we have a game plan to help her into the waters of Baptism. :) I am very excited for this week. We have a lot of plans to meet with members and ask for references  but I'm afraid that the members will talk a lot .. Like usually! :) Ill write you´ll next week and tell you all about it!
Enjoy your weekend, and remember to take lots of pictures! .
Love,
Hermana Hansen

WEEK 44: Week 8 Of Training

October 19, 2015

Wow 8 weeks! I honestly cannot believe it! This week when I read all the letters I got, I was filled with joy! :) Life is passing by and I am enjoying myself, what else can I ask for? :)
This week my "Ponderize" scripture is Jacob 4:10-11. (remember in conference we were challenged to ponderize every week. So my zone challenged us to do it as well!!!)
I really enjoy these verses because its like, who do you think you are to counsel Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? We need to be humble and listen to everything that they are telling us in this life. And in 11, it tells us all the blessing that we will receive when we are worthy and obedient.
Monday we watched How to train a Dragon:2! I love that movie. I really enjoy Disney, and I am very grateful for the chance that we have to watch movies in the mission, because there are a lot of missionaries that suffer for 2 years without seeing anything. This week I have defiantly been counting my blessings. :)
Tuesday was a miracle day. We found a Recent convert(RC) and his mother in their house, and they let us pass by the front door to talk to them.... During all my time here, I have been passing by this door, knocking and there being no answer. For 3 months I have been knocking, and this week we not only talked to them, but we taught them. The RC is now less-active, and we have the opportunity to rescue him and baptize his mother, who is not a member. They said that this Sunday they are going to come back to church. This Sunday! I am really excited! :)
Also Tuesday I had the opportunity to talk about concilio, which is the meeting with leaders in the mission, Zone and sister leaders, with the president of the mission. Then we take the new things that we learned from president, and we teach our zones the new things of the mission. So this week I had the great opportunity to teach about unified companionships, and it went really well. I could feel the Spirit run through me, because I said things that I hadn't planned to say. The missionaries learned alot, and I think that they understood how the Lord wants them to be in their companionships.
Wednesday: Hna Rowley completed 3 months in her mission. Oh I remember those days. They were terrible. Wednesday I was a lot nicer, and I actually tried to make things a lot easier for her... because I had a terrible flash back... and remembered my life as a missionary. :) Hna. Rowley is doing AMAZING! I really don't feel like I am training her. She is doing really well. Now that she has adjusted out of the new awkward stage, life is a lot easier and things are going a lot smoother. She is teaching these people and is not afraid to do the will of the Lord. We have seen a lot of little miracles these weeks, and I think that it is because we are working better as a team!
Thursday, Friday and Saturday were a little hard, because we had a member scheduled to come out with us for the whole afternoon, and every day she would push it to the next day. So we planed for a lot of men to visit, because we have to have another person with us to visit single men. But our plans failed because we didn't have a member... so those days were ruff, but in the end we did have lessons because we followed the guidance, or voice of the spirit.
Sunday our investigator, Gilmer, attended church for all three hours.... The first time! :) WAHOOO!!! He really enjoyed it, and he took home an Ensign. :)
All in all, the area is getting better, and we are getting to know almost everyone that lives there. Which is really good! :) These people are so loving, and they have really taken my heart? There is a investigator that we are teaching, Chabeli, and is 13 yrs. old. She is amazing! One day I will show all of you guys a photo of her. She is amazing. She calls herself a mormon, but isn't baptized.... Yet! :) She knows that everything we teach is true, and she knows that this gospel is the truth, she just doesn't feel prepared. These people understand God really well, and his teachings, but they are so hard on themselves when it come to being worthy of following Him. I want to see this little girl get baptized, and I don't know if I will in my time here. Ive got 4 weeks left here, in Garatea. I really feel that Hna. Rowley will train, and that I will leave this area. Im honestly really mad about that! I don't want to leave these people. Again, they are taken part of my heart, and have become part of my family. I see Chabeli as the little sister that I never had. And it´s so hard because I don't know in what way I can really help her to the waters of baptism.
Being a missionary is amazing. You really loose yourself in the service of our God. I love it here. Life is amazing. And I know that I can do anything with the help of the Lord. I am so grateful the this opportunity that I have to serve here in Peru. I will definitely come back, and who ever wants to come with me can! :) I love you all so much. I have started to have dreams at the airport, but I know that I am suppose to be here. This is where the Lord wants me to be! I know it, and I have felt it in my heart this whole year that I have been out here.
I love you all! I hope all is well. Keep sending photos and I love reading your cute little stories! :)
LOVE you to the moon and back... :)

WEEK 43: Week 7 Of Training

October 12, 2015

Well family, Buenos Días! ¿Cómo están? Esta semana fue muy buen! :)

Good morning to everyone. Life is great! This week went by so fast, but every day was so long! :)
I feel like the theme for this week was faith, and clothes.... Ill explain why! .)
This week I had my leader meeting with president, and we talked about a lot of amazing things that are going to happen now in the mission. I found out that I am the only sister leader, I don't have a companion, for  3 sister. My companion, and the other two sisters that are in our ward. I am a little worried because its hard doing everything alone.... So this transfer will be interesting. :) But I am excited because I love these sisters and they are amazing.

Also in the meeting Hna. Rios talked about the way the sister need to dress. I was thinking a lot about me, and these sisters, and we can do a lot better. :) Then in church the bishop came in to Relief society and talked to the mothers about the way they are dressing and their daughters too. Everyone seems to only have short short short skirts that dont allow them to walk because they are so tight... so I was really happy that the bishop took the time to walk about modesty, and the house of the Lord.
This week we didn't find Fadema at all. She is just gone.. And I was really heart broken. But this week we had the opportunity to visit a man twice with two members. I would love to testify about the power that a member has in lessons. If you have the chance to be that member, use it and testify! Ah! These lessons were amazing, because this man will get baptized in November! Next week I will write more about him.
Time is gone. I'm sorry. I cant send photos because the virus is terrible. Life is good. I am happy, and I love Perú! I don't really want to come home... I'm sorry! :)
Love you all. Enjoy your week! And I LOVE YOU! Write me if you have the chance. And send photos because I don't know your faces or kids! :)
Hahah... but really its hard to know what kid is what! They have changed so much!
Love,
Hermana Hansen

WEEK 42: Week 6 Of Training

October 5, 2015

Well, this week went by really fast! Holy Cow! Life is going good. This weekend with General Conference and everything was icing on the cake. I love this time of year! It's amazing! What a blessing we have to live in a time where we have the Gospel of Jesus Christ, a Prophet that loves and guides us, and internet/cable to watch and listen to it all. I was able to watch all the sessions, and in english. The only talk that we didn't hear was Elder Oaks, the internet signal cut out, and then cut back in when the closing prayer was being said. So I have no clue if it was good or not, but I was very saddened that I didn't get to hear a great speaker talk. What history we were able to see as 3 new apostles were called. I am so happy, and one of them is my favorite 70.
My Health is a lot better, and I am happy and safe!
Yesterday I had to say goodbye to another sister that is ending her mission. Every 6 weeks I have to say goodbye to another friend, and they always tell me that before I know it, I will be in their place. Three more groups and then it's my turn to say good bye. Ah. My stomach turns just thinking about it.

This week we had a good week. We are teaching a teen, and her mother is a less active. We are, up till this point, only teaching the teen, but we have to help her mother get back into the church and be active.  The teen is AMAZING! We found her knocking on doors, and singing songs. This week she accepted a baptism date for November. AH! For now she is progressing really well, and loves when we come and visit. She is like a little sister of mine. Her name is Fadema.

Also this week, I had a special meeting with President and the new missionaries. President talked about the example that we are setting, and the preparation that we are doing to make sure that our "children" succeed in their missions. I felt a lot of pressure during the meeting, and I now have a different focus on how I need to be training Hermana Rowley. Its had, but not impossible, and with the Lords help, I know that I can do it. One at a time, and a little by little. I know that I can do this. I think I feel a lot of pressure because my daughter is amazing, and well prepared, and for that I think that she will train after her training. She is doing amazing, but is still missing a lot of things... like she is struggling connecting with the people. She doesn't show love, so it is affecting some of the people that we teach... And its hard because I don't know how to show or teach her how to love... I feel like its something that comes slowly and with time... so I am working on that with her.

Last week for our p day we made Tacos, and it was Amazing! MMMM so good! Then after we went to a turf field and played soccer with members. It was so much fun, and everyone was amazed by the few goalie skills that I have up my sleeves. :) It was such a good day. Today I will be cleaning my room, and getting ready for the new missionaries to come. In the zone, 4 new missionaries are coming tomorrow, and I want to do something nice for them.... ;) This change/transfer is going to be amazing.
LOVE YOUALL! until next week, with pictures,
Hermana Hansen

WEEK 41: Week 5 Of Training

Sept 28, 2015

This week flew past my face! Holy cow! I cannot believe all that happened and flew!!!! FLEW BY!
Monday. I went to Trujillo in the night time. I stayed in a huge apartment, and slept on a bunkbed... nothing really exciting happened this day! :)
Tuesday. I spent all day in Trujillo. I went to Trujillo to do some kind of paperwork... I didn’t really understand what I was doing, but I signed a paper to permit an elder to do all my legal papers and what not to go home. :) Then after that I went to see a doctor because I have something wrong with my skin. But the doctor said I wasn’t going to die, and that it’s a reaction that my skin has for the humidity... but It will go away, so all it well! :) After seeing the doctor, I snuck over to see President and Sister Marler. Oh how I have missed them! And they missed me. President said that he was happy to see my smiling face smiling... so he knew that I was doing good, and all was well! He told me that he will be waiting to see me at the airport to give me a HUGE goodbye huge from him. Oh how trunky that made me! They are like my second parents! I know that day will be hard to say goodbye to them! :/
Wednesday. We had our district meeting, and learned about the importance of families. We try and find families, because they are more likely to accept, progress, and get baptized in the gospel when they do everything together. We have a goal to find a family every week! :)
Thursday. Thursday I woke up sick. We did our weekly planning, and then I called the doctor to get meds, and to see if there was a possibility that I could sleep. I got permission, and slept until 4 in the afternoon. When I woke up I felt so much better! But I also am taking alot of pills to help me get better quickly, and still be able to be a missionary.:) But I just have a little cough now. So I am good.
Saturday. WOMENS CONFERENCE!!! And I got to watch the last hour in English. It was amazing! I loved the talk from Elder Uchtdorf. AH. It made me so excited and happy for this following weekend! AHAHA!!! :)
Sunday. Well it was a Sunday. WE visited people and members.
This week the mission work was slow. We didn’t teach that many people, and all the appointments that we had fell through. I know this week we will be knocking on doors, and talking to alot of people! :)
Today for p day, we are making TACOS!!!! Homemade tacos with a family of members! :) It will be an experiment, because they don’t have quit all the ingredients that we need, but I feel like playing "mom", and substituting things in! Hopefully it works out, and tastes good because we have to feed 30 people in all! :) I’ll make sure to take alot of pictures and send them next week!
Life is good, and I keep smiling! :) I’m enjoying my time with hna. Rowley. She is doing so well, and I sometimes feel like she is training me, because she is amazing. I am learning alot of good things from her about life, and also SLC and BYU!. She has a goal to convince me to go to BYU, but I don’t think that will ever happen. It’s my Team, but I will never go there! :)
The sun is coming out, and everyone is talking about the weather... saying that a Huge storm is coming in November... :) We will see! People are crazy about the weather here, and LOVE to talk about it!:)
I LOVE PERÚ!!!!! le AMO Perú! It’s a beautiful place. I will for sure come back soon! :)
I love you all! Thank you for everything! :)
Hermana Hansen

WEEK 40: Week 4 Of Training

Sept 21, 2015

Okay, I am super happy this week! This week seems like it went by really fast, but I can tell that it was hard because my body is starting to ache. Just little pains here and there, but I like it. Sometimes the days go by and I feel like I have just been visiting friends. The people are so nice, and I know that the Lord is guiding me and my companion because it’s easy to talk to these people! :) I love starting the little truths that I know are true. That God lives, I am a child of God. He hears and answers my prayers. And that He is really waiting for me on the other side of the veil... cheering me on in my life. I know that this gospel is TRUE, and this week it was alot easier to share it.
I truly had some bonding moments with my companion this week! And now I can’t picture my mission without her. :) I have learned so many things from her already, and I am excited for the short time that we will have together. I am honestly afraid that in the next two months, I will get transferred. After her training... I will leave Garatea, and her to "die" in another area. :( Time is flying by, and the Lord is blessing me right now with some good times!
Last week we found a fisherman. The next visit we met his 14 yr. old daughter. And this Sunday, they came to the first hour of church! They are the first people that I have personally found that have actually gone to church! :) Yesterday I was so happy. We met with them in their house in the afternoon and they loved the meeting. And they love this church. They know that it is different, and they want to know why. :) They are doing great! :) His daughter has a baptism date for the next month, and we are hoping that we can get them both baptized on the same date. It would be a dream come true, and an amazing gift for Heavenly Father. Please pray for them. They are amazing!
This week I asked my companion why I had so many split ends in my hair if I don’t have a blow dryer or a straightener to damage my hair... she responded... The sand..... I honestly started laughing... but I don’t really know if sand can do that kind of thing.
A few weeks ago we started singing to people to get them to talk to us. We go up to a door, and ask them if we can sing. And then after we share a little about the message that we have, and walk in the door, or set another appointment to come back. With one of these people, we found a teenager... at the time we thought she was 18... The following week when we came back we taught her mom and aunt... WHO ARE MEMBERS, but less actives.... It was amazing! And the teen is so cute, and I think that we can get the mom active again, and baptize her daughter! :)
My package came from mom this week! And I held off to eat the Reese’s bar... today I opened it, and I think that I will finish it tomorrow! :) I love it! It’s so good! :)

Everything is alot better. I have really tried to think about how my training was, and help my comp have a better time. I am trying to teach her everything that I know, and help her grow in all that she is doing! :) Life is good. I am happy, and laughing more than ever. Everyone in our area knows us as the happy laughing, singing sisters! :) And I love it!!!! :) We know alot of people, and in every corner there are people that wave at us! :)
Thank you for everything that you are doing, and all the letters that you send. I love you all....
Hermana Hansen

Eating Cheesecake for my birthday!
PS. this week I had a dream that I came home and gave EVERY single one of you a hug. :) It was a nice dream. And I am looking forward to this day. But I am not in any means wishing that it comes sooner. I want to see you all. I can’t wait for Christmas time to skype and get to see how everyone is growing!
I really can’t believe how time is flying! Know that you are always in my heart, and prayers.

I’m trying to be a good missionary and represent the family name with honor!

WEEK 39: Week 3 Of Training

WEEK 39

Sept 14, 2015

Hello family and friends! I love you all very much! I am very grateful for all the letter that I have gotten to read this day! I love Mondays because I can feel the love from home through a computer screen. :)
This week we knocked on doors and sang to people... and it worked. We found 7 new people to teach, and they want to hear more... :) Life is hard, but good as a missionary right now. :)
I’m going to be honest, this week has been hard. Training is harder than I thought... and I have learned alot this week! I have forgotten what it really was like to be a new missionary. There have been alot of  times when I have thought that my companion isn’t a new missionary, and that I can trust her with a things... and then the lessons burn and die... and its then when I remember that I need to help her learn, and that maybe right now she isn’t ready to do these kinds of things... I missing doing ping-pong(taking turns talking) with my companion.... but I have also realized what I have learned this week. So I am very grateful for that. I just forget that she is new, because her Spanish is really well, and then I feel bad because nothing went well.... so I have goals to get better this week!:) I’m praying and hoping that, lesson wise, it will be a better week!
This week we have a multi zone conference, and I am excited! :) I can’t wait to learn and grow.
This week was an okay week. I walked alot, looking for people knocking on doors, and now my feet hurt.. I have learned from my comp, to do exercises every morning... to be obedient, and so far I’ve been more tired. But I know that that blessing will come in the future! :) So I will keep waiting for them!
I am happy and proud to say that I am in Perú serving the Lord. I know that this is his work, and that I am an instrument in his hands.
Wow! This hour flies! I wish that I could have more time! But until next week! :) I love you all! Thank you for everything. Next week I will have pictures too! :)
I LOVE YOU!!!! Les AMO!
Hermana Hansen

Ps. I’m sorry that this is short!
